Signs Of An Unhealthy Liver

Make your tests performance in the cloud with SOASTA

past few months, I meant SOASTA and its solution load testing in cloud without finding an opportunity. This comes last, with the announcement a new offer to businesses, which now extends its scope to "cloud" and internal hybrids. The "greater platform performance testing of the world" becomes usable for all purposes of qualification of web applications, intranet as the Internet.

Briefly, CloudTest is a complete platform comprising a console (web) that can record high (through the browser), edit and manage scenarios and prepare the test campaigns. When they are ready, CloudTest reserve resources on the most important cloud infrastructure (including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) for execution. Finally, customizable dashboard for analyzing campaign results in real time. The first

advantage is clear: performance tests require the establishment of an oversized infrastructure to validate an application's ability to withstand peak loads. Rather than invest in equipment that is used occasionally, SOASTA proposes to "rent" of servers in the cloud , these then being charged for their lifetime. The overall cost of a test campaign is thereby drastically reduced. But

CloudTest brings to other benefits. For example, the solution allows us to simulate traffic from outside the company and, therefore, to assess the suitability of any chain network link establishment. In addition, the ability to choose insfrastructure (in cloud ) on which the tests are performed has the ability to simulate a load closer to reality, taking into account geographic diversity (or "network") of future users application.

Up Now the steering console and analysis CloudTest itself was sold in SaaS (Software as a Service ) and hosted in the cloud . The new solution CloudTest Pro now offers to businesses to install in their production center. It then becomes possible to test the same solution with the performance of web applications internal and external, that they are public or private access. For the case of intranet applications, SOASTA complete its offer with CloudTest Appliance, a version of its platform to run tests to deploy in the enterprise. At least

a U.S. bank (modest, it is true) has ever used the services CloudTest: Associated Bank has used to validate the load holding its website for owners of retirement plans (in case a Events in financial markets would trigger a rush of access).

To conclude this presentation, we note that SOASTA concluded with a partnership with Utest (we already talked ) to propose a comprehensive approach to software testing in the cloud (albeit in very different forms) functional tests for load testing, passing by regression testing and testing of "usability".

Validation of performance of web applications has become an imperative for all major companies exhibiting their services on the Internet. Unfortunately, this approach is often strewn with obstacles: lack of infrastructure to extreme tests, difficult to justify costs, time to access a shared platform for enterprise ... This sometimes leads to dead ends on the load tests, which can be catastrophic ( I was thinking just now to the fortunes of the London Stock Exchange in September 2008 ). With solution as CloudTest, all these constraints are lifted and there's no excuse not to test the application performance.
